Sans Titre

I can't decide if today was dynamic and exciting or slow and unproductive. It had its moments.

First, my photos from yesterday.

La Tour Eiffel

La Comédie Française. Salle Richlieu. Beautiful Italian-Style theatre. Molière died hère.

See how the seats are curved? The original idea was so that you could go to see and be seen. We were in the Orchestra seating. It was quite nice.

The ceiling. I think this was more fitting than the Chagall at the Opéra

Sideways poster from the lobby. These marks are slowly fading away. They stopped checking bags at ISEP. Good bye, Vigipirate. I won't miss you.

Today started with a lovely breakfast of toast from last night's baguette, coffee, an apple. Lovely. I hurried out to make it to my friend's presentation in French class today, and spent the class being the well-behaved French student I always am. It was quite enjoyable, even if it was 9am. However, I did learn some interesting news about something that happened on campus that left me a bit shell-shocked for most of the day.

I spent the rest of the morning getting over my shell-shockedness rather than doing homework, alas, until noon, when my friend and I left for the Musée D'Orsay, stopping briefly for some Camembert at Franprix and a baguette at a nearby boulangerie. We then had a beautiful picnic just outside the museum before joining our class at 13h for a session in the Museum, studying Corot, Daumier, Millet, and Courbet. It was lovely, and we passed through some of my favorite rooms (I have come to know the museum quite well; one of the many advantages to being a student here is free museum admittance!).

Picnic lunch! Note the Opinel knife carefully hidden from museum security.

Afterwards, my friend and I walked over to Place de la Madeleine to try to visit a new expo at a nearby museum, but the line was unbelievable and we quickly changed our minds. I then proceed to have some interesting ideological and philosophical debates via Facebook messaging, after stopping at Monoprix, of course, to obtain another bar of Cognac dark chocolate, because it was the right day for that sort of indulgence. Finally, we decided to meet up for a walk at Parc Monceau, so I dashed out onto the Métro.

It was a lovely walk, and afterwards we stopped at Carrefour to get soup for our sick friend. One of my friends had to go home to dinner, but the other friend and I went over to our sick friend's place. Not realizing we had soup, he said he didn't want us to come because his place was a mess and he didn't feel well, but we knew the security code so we snuck into the building and up the stairs, and secretly deposited the soup outside his door before fleeing into the night.

Parc Monceau ce soir

More Parc Monceau, because it was a lovely walk.

When he found the soup, he was very appreciative and told us we should have come in. Whoops! I went home and had a delicious dinner. It was exactly the dinner I had two nights ago, so I hardly think I need to show you yet another picture, but it was delightful. And now, I am here and it is bedtime. Good night.
