Tour Eiffel/Etoiles

Today was a Monday. That means it was a work day. That means that it was incredibly difficult to get work done. That means that I spent a good deal of time reading articles and discussing the world on Facebook. That means that I needed to eat chocolate to feel better about the world (because it contains phenylethylamine which releases endorphins; I still don't like chocolate). That means that I wasn't too hungry for lunch. That means…

My breakfast was fantastic, and this is the true reason I was not particularly hungry for lunch. Several pieces of toast, a piece of cake, an apple, a pear, a clementine, and a cup of coffee later, and I was ready to face the day. I almost got work done before I left for French class!

French went well, and then I had the chance to go back to the library and almost work again, for an hour and a half! Then, we went to get lunch. Because I wasn't hungry, I just got a little sandwich. Because I was hungrier than I thought I was, I ate said sandwich before I could take a photo. Therefore, I took a photo of my friend's food instead (because food is food, right?). I also took a photo of the empty sandwich wrapper, as if that makes things any better. We ate in the nice little park at the corner of Sèvres-Babylon, which I highly recommend. Even in winter.

Tabouleh lunch (not mine…)

My sandwich!!

View from our bench. We got to witness fighting pigeons!

Then the afternoon happened. By 16h45, it was clearly snack time, so a couple of us went to search for food or coffee (or both!). Because the line was too long at Bagels and Brownies, we went to the crêpe place. I got a nutella crêpe for once, just because.

Crêpe. Blurry because, seriously, when you have a steaming crêpe in your time, who wants to stop to take a photo?

After a while in the study room, I walked home, stopping at Franprix to purchase some treats for our night's plans. Then, surprise of surprises, I actually went on a run. This was the first run of 2015. I ran a total of ~4.5 miles (which is not much, but it's winter, which is still no excuse but that's okay). It took me almost 40 minutes, so I am probably not in excellent shape, but, then again, that is entirely voluntary!

Dinner was fantastic. After a nice pâté avec cornichons we had lamb chops cooked very well, and a purée of some vegetable that probably wasn't potatoes. It was delicious. After a great Roquefort, we had crème de chocolat noir for dessert, which was fine. Then, I left for the night's adventure. Four of us met under the Tour Eiffel at 21h45, right before it's hourly sparkle. We set up camp on a bench and set up our picnic. It was super nutritional. We had Lindt chocolate, cookies, Toblerone, gummmies, and Orangina. For four of us. This is healthy living.

With the glittering

It is quite a structure, actually. A marvel of engineering.

To facilitate the admiring of sparkles, I included a version in Black and White.

Our nutritional picnic in all its healthy glory

When we got a bit too chilly, we headed back to the Métro and home. And this is the end. My story stops here, where homework starts.
